Bachelor of Science in Medical Practice Management
Following completion of the Associate Degree program students may progress into the Medical Practice Management Program. This program responds to the need for providing management personnel for physicians’ offices. Acquiring additional management skills is advantageous to the medical assistant because it opens up more opportunities to advance into management positions in medical offices and other ambulatory care settings. Future health services managers must be prepared to deal with evolving integrated health care delivery systems, restructuring of work, technological innovations, and an increased focus on preventive care. Medical practice managers are called upon to improve the efficiency in health care facilities and the quality of health care provided. In group practices, managers work closely with physicians to develop policies, offer advice on business strategy and administer the day-to-day business activities within a group practice.
